Rain, Rain go away
By cuzzy | April 24, 2008

Yep it is one of those dark and rainy days in Halifax right now and I already know Bosco is not happy. Even a short trip out for his morning business has him a little on the wet side and looking uncomfortable as he tries to get comfy on the couch.
For whatever reason Bosco loves being in water but hates getting hit with water. He can spend all day in the lake but if he even gets a sprinkle on him he looks like he is going to have the worst day ever. You all know that face. Dogs have many expressions and the one that is most evident is when they are less than amused.
It is not like I can park him in front of the TV with a movie or video game. He still wants to play and get his exercise and when you are an active lab it can be hard to find the space.
I think he should do more writing like he did for Cuzoogle last week but apparently he does not want to. Dogs can be so fussy.
I am sure there will be a less than dry walk coming soon and some fun in the house. We have a decent hallway upstairs where I can throw the ball from his room and it goes down the stairs. Several trips up and down the stairs will tire him out for a bit. There will be no lazy afternoon in the backyard today sadly Bosco but this is what April is all about.
The rain will make everything grow nice and green for many more days of laying around in the grass and not having a care in the world.
Besides Bosco is pretty good at sleeping anywhere, he will just have to deal with the rain just like everyone else.
What do you do with your dog on rainy days?

Hello - Jenny is the same way with water. I have to run outside in the rain myself just to lure her out there to pee. She beats me back inside.
But, if I say the magic words of “Do you want to go for a walk?” she’ll come out no matter. For her those words mean we’re getting in the car and driving somewhere, as I don’t really walk her anywhere FROM my house. If it’s just lightly raining I still bring her places and she’ll walk as long as I am. She doesn’t like the rain but she’ll tolerate it as long as she can hang out with me.
If it’s raining hard though, we play “Queen of the Bed”, which is essentiall King of the Hill, but we’re girls, and we’re on my bed. I push her off the bed over and over and she loves it. If dogs could laugh I know she’s be laughing hysterically through the whole game.
Nice to meet you!

Our Chocolate lab Abby use to have a choc lab friend named Bosco that looks like your Bosco. His owners had a down syndrome baby and had to find a new home for him as it was too much work. They use to play so hard that they would hurt each other.

thanks for the comments, yep it is funny to see a water loving dog hate rain so much.
Sad story, it would be hard to give up the dog but in that situation I am sure it was needed.
