    Pet fundraisers in Nova Scotia

    By cuzzy | November 14, 2007

Rick Conrad from the Chronicle Herald has it all

The Jazz, Blues and BSL event has been reskedded to this Saturday (Nov. 17) at 7 p.m. at Fred at 2606 Agricola St. in Halifax.
Appetizers, a silent auction, musician Erin Costelo, guitarist Mark Whalen and lotsa mingling are what you get for your $30 ticket. Plus, you’ll be able to party in a way-mean space like Fred, which also houses Whet Cafe.

While you’re partying it up, you’ll be raising money for the Dog Legislation Council of Canada, which fights against breed bans and breed-specific legislation (thus the BSL part of the event name). For more info, contact Janet Chernin at caninecasbah@eastlink.ca or Cathy Prothro at barberycoast@eastlink.ca.

The next afternoon, the perfect spot for you and your hangover would be the fourth annual Ceilidh for Critters fundraiser from 1-4 p.m. at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel in Halifax.

With the country music stylings of JD Clarke, the lightly stepping Amethyst Scottish Dancers, those wacky Lietash Demo Dogs and emcee-ette Lisa Blackburn of Q104, it promises to be an afternoon delight. Organizers have also planned live and silent auctions.

Tickets are $20 and are available at Global Pet Foods locations, Bide Awhile Animal Shelter or through the event’s website, ceilidhforcritters.com. All proceeds go to Bide Awhile.

The next evening, on Mon., Nov. 19, at the Platter House restaurant in Wileville on the South Shore, just off Exit 13 on Highway 103, a benefit dinner is planned for trap-neuter-return programs.

The Operation CatSnip dinner costs $20 a person for a full chicken dinner (complete with appetizer and dessert) and a bottle of wine per table courtesy Petite Riviere Vineyards. All money raised on the evening will be matched by an anonymous donor.

Tickets are limited so check with Beth Kent at 543-5909 or at nshskent@eastlink.ca or Lynne Ware at 688-1654 or shaidylady@eastlink.ca right away.

And with just over a month until that furry-faced old guy makes his annual visit, the Nova Scotia SPCA is giving your furry-faced guy, girl or it a chance to have their photos taken with Santa.

Santa Pix 2007 is being held in various locations around the Halifax region. For $15, you get a professional, studio-quality shot of your pet with the big guy, and a magnet frame to take home. The SPCA is also selling customized Christmas cards this year too.

The five-photo session will be held at the following locations: Sun, Nov. 25, from 6-9 p.m. at Hiltz Tae Kwon Do at 622 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville; Mon., Nov. 26, from 6-9 p.m. at the Military Family Resource Centre at Building 106 in Windsor Park, off Windsor or Connolly Street, in Halifax; Tues., Nov. 27, from 6-9 p.m. at Cole Harbour Place, 51 Forest Hills Parkway; Thurs., Nov. 29, from 6-9 p.m. at the Dartmouth Chapters at Mic Mac Mall; Sat., Dec. 8, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the Tantallon Veterinary Hospital, 5280 St. Margarets Bay Rd.

i think each country has its specific for investment opportunities. cultural customs are also with their own specifics. few years back real estate investing was a hit, now it seems everywhere, in all countries, it dropped. what you do here is great, thank you for good info.

Your website is a wonderful 1. The things that truly impresses me personally is you are correctly mentioned that we now have a huge number of resources available to produce a web page or perhaps start one yet what counts is that you choose the right one, one which provides you with all that is really desired.

Amazing blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Many thanks!
