Pimple problem?
By cuzzy | October 22, 2007
Hi all I was wondering if anyone can help me out. A few weeks ago I noticed a small pimple/wart/bump on Bosco’s side. It does not seem to hurt and it is kind of dry and skin like to touch.
I was at the vet and asked around and they said to keep an eye on it and get it checked out if it gets all puss-like and bigger.
There has been no change for the worse and I am just wondering what it is. It could be a wart I am just not sure.
Has anyone else ever come across this?
Here are some shots of it even though it is hard to tell.

The orlando hotel as well as the miami hotel industry is well known for its confectionaries. This has resulted in a business boost too. As a result the chicago hotel industry has suffered too. This is why now we will be seeing more chocolates in boston hotel.

looks like a skin tag to me… my little guy (pek)gets them all the time. If it is a skin tag, they are harmless.. usually they will fall off in time..

My parents “chocolate” gets skin tags, and that looks similar. His are usually quite pink, but they are usually around the face. My springer spaniel had a wart, and again, it looked similar to the pimple Bosco has. The only reason I knew it was a wart was he scratched it and I thought it was getting worse, took him to our trusty old vet and he said “nope, its just a wart”. We did have it removed, since he kept pawing at it. Don’t know if this helps, or if I just rambled.

My sisters choclolate lab had something very similar to this on the corner of her eye one time. She thought it looked like what her lab has on her elbows but slightly different . She then put an anti fungal cream on it and it competely disappeared.

Looks like a fatty cist. Labs get these with age and they are non-threatening. you can have them removed if they are unsightly but they have no ill effect on your pup. they will continue to spring up the older your dog gets. Vets will monitor them usually but short of freezing them off- there’s not much they can do.

I recently discovered two on my chocolate - if it looks like cauliflower as it grows, it is probably a wart and is common on older dogs on the head and ears. They are not contagious or dangerous. Younger dogs (pups) get the contagious kind around and in their mouths. Hope it helps.

My guide dog had the same thing on her head. She’s a yellow lab. The vet said it was a wart, and I could have it removed if I wanted to. It wasn’t bothering her, but it had broken and bled because she got it caught on something. The vet said if it had been somewhere on her body where she could get it caught then she would remove it anyway. It’s probably best to get it removed if it’s on your dog’s side.
When Sophie’s was removed they shaved a tiny patch of hair around it, froze the area around it, and removed it. She had one stich and got it removed in about a week. LOL, she wasn’t happy about having a bald spot on her head though!
The vet also sent it for a biopsy, just to make sure it wasn’t anything bad, and it turns out it was just a wart and nothing more. Good luck with it!
