The birthday that was

Well the partying is over, the balloons have deflated and it is back to everyday life on Kline for Bosco. Yesterday was a blast and if Bosco could talk he would say he had an awesome time celebrating his fourth birthday.
Okay so it wasn’t a giant bash with hundreds of guests but it was all of Bosco’s favourite things packed into one day. For a dog I think that is pretty darn special.
Here are the highlights
- Went for a car ride around Halifax and eventually stopped at Long Lake Park for a walk in the woods and more importantly a swim. Endless tennis balls chucked into the lake and chased down by the chocolate guy. It sounds like he is drinking the lake but I think it is his favourite thing to do in the world (other than eat). It was nice the two people in the park mentioned how trim Bosco looks and can’t believe he is four and not a puppy.
- After that we drove over to the biggest pet store in town, Pets Unlimited and I quicky ran in and picked up the presents. To start off I got him a small chew bone to work on that tartar build up. Next was the grand prize for turning four. A new giant stuffed toy. The biggest one they had was a gorilla and it is awesome. When you squeeze it’s head it makes monkey noises. What a find!
- We went home the long way so Bosco could enjoy some more drive time and once home I gave him the bone and he was gone for over an hour working on it.
- Once he was done he came to visit me and I gave him the gorilla who I have named George. All Bossy’s friends (toys) have names….snakey, booda and octopus and all regulars at our house and the cool part is he knows them all by name. So we will see how long it takes George to bust into the rotation. Some playing and sniffing and Bosco had enough for the time being.
- Bosco had a solid two hour nap in the chair while I went about my day.
- After he woke up he had a nice dinner that had the added bonus of some dropped frozen raspberries. I was making a smoothie, who knew Bosco would like them.
- I won’t try to pretend the rest of the day was exciting. Bosco slept in various places and found that dozing in front of the fan is all that!
- Great birthday Boss, see you again next year.
