More poorly treated puppies

I am getting pretty tired of reading the local paper and seeing stories about puppies treated horribly. Once again today there is a story about someone abadoning nine puppies in a sealed plastic case in a parking lot. What I would love is it get inside the minds of these people and actually see what is ticking.
Nine little puppies lay still, their tiny mouths gasping for air, as rescuers pulled the abandoned animals from a sealed plastic tub left in a parking lot in Halifax’s north end on a 22-degree Thursday afternoon.
Animal control officers brought the six- to eight-week-old pups to Carnegy Animal Hospital where they were treated for preliminary heatstroke, dehydration and fever.
“When they came in, several of them were actually mouth-breathing with very high temperatures,” Dr. Eric Carnegy said. “We had to cool them down and give them some oxygen to help them breathe because they were starting to go into heatstroke.”
A few air holes had been punched into the container they were left in, but that didn’t provide enough ventilation for the puppies.
“Had they actually gone into heatstroke, it can affect their brain and actually kill them,” the veterinarian said, adding that they might have started convulsing. “It would be a very cruel way to die.”
But by nightfall the little guys were recovering from the day’s ordeal. All nine puppies were eating and drinking and had even started to tussle with one another.

I would just like to say I am now the proud owner of one of the male puppies. We addopted him from the SPCA tonight and just can’t wait to bring him home to a new loving family
