Go to Bridgewater this coming weekend for the Canine Performance Events national agility championship. More than 250 competitors from across the continent will be there to vie for the sport’s top honours on July 6, 7 and 8. It’s the first time in its eight-year history that the event will be held outside the U.S. The competition begins at 8 a.m. each day in the main ring of the Bridgewater exhibition grounds. And there will be a closing ceremony and awards presentation on Sunday evening.
If you haven’t been to an agility competition before, you should go to this one. It’s amazing to see such a variety of well-trained dogs and loving owners. And you’re guaranteed to laugh at least a dozen times through the day. For more info, visit their website at www.cpenationals.com.

I went to the Chateauguay Valley Kennel Club Show in St Antoine Abbe last weekend. The show dogs are not too interesting, but the obedience testing was fun to watch. Do you have RallyO in NS? I have a one-year old chocolate lab (it’s her birthday today!) and am thinking about trying this. Man are these dogs a handful!
