A day at the lake

Bosco has had a busy day and it is only 1pm here in Halifax. The sun is out and it is a beautiful day here so that only meant one thing, a trip to Long Lake Park and a swim.
First off though I had to take care of some planning for an upcoming trip that Katie and I are hoping to take. At the end of June we are going to hit Boston to see some friends and celebrate my birthday. So of course that means figuring out what to do with the kids, Bosco and Mercy.
I usually would ask friends and they are always more than willing but it is a long weekend here in Canada and I don’t feel right asking someone.
I checked online and came across OAKGLEN BOARDING KENNELS LTD and gave them a call. They are 15 minutes outside of the city and their setup seems pretty good. Not to mention they take cats and dogs and do not charge a lot. So the farm is all booked for that weekend and I am sure they will have fun. It will be like going away to camp together. It is funny, both Katie and I like the idea that they will be at the same place even though they won’t be together. We picture them passing notes and checking in on one another.
With that taken care of it was time to get in the car and hit the lake. There was nobody in the park and that was great. Bosco disappeared into the forest and did his “adventure dog” routine. I swear he runs through those trees like a crazy dog and I expect to hear a thud at any moment. I have to hand it to him, he is pretty quick on his feet.
We checked out the usual spots and did some swimming and then we checked out some not so traveled paths and he loved that. I would have to say we both got our exercise and it was nice to refresh the mind and forget about everything. Not that there is anything to forget but you know what I mean.
Bosco is passed out downstairs and I would guess he won’t be moving much today.
